Operation Backpack is CLC’s annual back-to-school drive, where we equip struggling families in both the Lethbridge area and the Philippines, with all the supplies their children need to head back to school in the fall. Supplies are typically donated by our church congregants and community members and distributed however needed to families that register.
Registration will open June 10, 2024 and will be first-come, first-served. For more information about how to sign up for this program, please email office@citylightchurch.ca.
We are looking for monetary donations to help offset the cost of our backpacks and any supplies we need to purchase, as well as donations of school supplies. You can bring supplies in during Sunday service, or during weekly office hours.
The supplies we are looking for are:
- Binders, especially 2″
- Lined Paper & Notebooks
- Duotangs, especially 3-prong with no pockets
- Rulers
- Scissors
- Geometry Sets
- Calculators
- Pencils, Pens & Erasers
- Highlighters
- Sharpeners
- Pencil Crayons, Markers & Crayons, especially Crayola brand
- Glue Sticks, especially UHU and Elmers brand
- Dry Erase & Permanent Markers
- Sticky Notes
- Earphones & Headphones
- Reusable Water Bottles
- Kleenex & Paper Towel
